The different components of the contest, that is photography, short story and poetry, will be held at various times throughout the year. It's Your World - Read It!

It's Your World - Read It! Participate in our interactive display featuring great books from around the world. Have you read a great book that takes place in another province or country? Is the main character Japanese or Australian or African? Help us travel around the world with reading. Add a sticker to the location on the world map at your closest branch to show where you have traveled with books. Check out our website for recommended reads featuring characters and places from around the world.

Do-Write Club

5 - 6 pm | Ages 6 - 12 | Free drop-in

This club brings together kids who like to write or would like to practice their writing skills. Do you have great stories going on inside your head and are just itching to share them? Or, do you have a great story to tell and just don't know where to start? Then this is the club for you, where you'll get the opportunity to brainstorm, create, write, draw and share the things that inspire you.

Reading Buddies

5:30 - 6:15 pm | Ages 6 - 10 | Free with advance registration

This is a registered program for children to spend time each week reading aloud with a trained buddy. Please note that the number of registrants is dependent upon the number if available volunteers. First come, first served.

Chess Fun

Caledon Public Library is searching for its next Chess Guru and challenges you to test your skills. Here’s your chance to challenge other like-minded players. Participants will be encouraged to play new opponents weekly. Will it be YOU who earns the most victories?

DIY (Do-It Yourself) Activities @ CPL

There’s always something to do at the library, including DIY (do-it-yourself) activities that you can enjoy anytime you visit. Activities can appeal to all ages from young families with small children, to teens and adults.  Activities are informal and may be ongoing or spontaneous and they offer wonderful ways to discover, create, explore and interact, all while in the comfort of your community library.

Popcorn & A Flick

Thursdays: February 9, 16, 23 | Albion Bolton Branch | 6:30 pm

All Ages | Free drop-in

Escape the cold and settle down on Thursday evenings at the Caledon Public Library for some freshly popped popcorn all the while enjoying a movie our big screen. Adult accompaniment is required. All films screened will be rated G, PG or PG 13. Check our website for an updated list of movie titles. Titles subject to change based on availability.

Reading Rangers

Reading Rangers is a fun activity based program that encourages independent reading through discussion, activities and crafts. Children will explore the world through reading level and hand-on study. Each week participants will choose an age and reading-level appropriate book to practice reading independently at home. Children must be able to read independently. To register, click here.

Artful Library: Process Art

Finally - program designed for the artistically challenged! Love art but can't paint like Van Gogh? Create beautiful canvases without using a traditional paint brush. Participants will use a variety of common household items as their paint brush. Your paint brush will include items such as funnels, straws, marbles, sponges and cardboard.

Coding Club: Ready, Set, Code! 

Saturdays: April 22, 29; May 6 | AB Branch

Have you ever wanted to learn how to code or just to     improve your coding skills? Now’s your chance - join us as we compete in weekly coding challenges and learn how to make games, animated stories and interactive art that can be shared with others. To get the most out of this program, participants need to attend all three sessions.
