Summer Preview Event for Families

We want to help your children stay on track for learning by participating in exciting and educational programming. From our Summer Reading Club to our weekly discovery clubs and the 4-week STEM village course; there are plenty of learning experiences available for kids of all ages. Experience these educational and fun opportunities for yourself while testing out our 3-D printers & coding robots or  exploring the STEM Village educational resource.

Alton Art Display: Homeschool Art Group

The Alton Branch is proud to display artwork created by one of Caledon's local Home school groups. The exhibit features both acrylic and watercolour pieces completed by members of the group who range between 3 and 14 years of age.

The Albion Bolton, Caledon East, Belfountain, Margaret Dunn Valleywod and Caledon Village Branches are proud to exhibit the artwork of local students to promote clean air.

Using the theme Celebrating Canada 150, submit your short story, poetry and/or photography and you could win! New this year! Click.Create.Celebrate is having a bit of a makeover! The different components of the contest, that is photography, short story and poetry, will be held at various times throughout the year. We hope this will give more people the opportunity to enter more than one contest. More time = more creativity! Also, entries are now all submitted online. Click Here for more details.

 

DIY (Do-It-Yourself) Activities @ CPL

There’s always something to do at the library, including DIY (do-it-yourself) activities that you can enjoy anytime you visit. Activities can appeal to all ages from young families with small children to teens and adults.  Activities are informal and may be ongoing or spontaneous and they offer wonderful ways to discover, create, explore and interact, all while in the comfort of your community library.

Reading Rangers

Thursday: May 25 | AB Branch

5:30 - 6:15 pm | Ages 5 - 10

A fun activity based program which encourages independent reading through discussion, activities and crafts. Each week children will choose an age and reading level appropriate book to practice reading independently at home.

Drive-In Movie for Kids

Saturday, May 27 | AB Branch | 10:30 - 11:30 am | Ages 2 - 6 

Get out of the house and get artistic! We’ll decorate box cars and then watch a short movie while enjoying a popcorn snack. Zoom away after the program for some at home fun!  Allergy Alert

  

Lego Club

Saturday, May 27 | ALT Branch

10:30 am  - 12 noon | Ages 12 and under

Build the biggest castle or compete in a timed building challenge. Each week we will explore a different structure and objects that can be built using LEGO. Bring your friends and start building! The activities in this program are designed for children ages 5+  to work independently. Children under 5 years are invited to participate with adult accompaniment This is a do-it-yourself activity.
