Additional Educational Resources

The Ministry guidelines for online learning is:  

  • Kindergarten to grade 3 –  five hours of work per student/week
  • Grades 4 to 6 – five hours of work per student/week
  • Grades 7 to 8 – 10 hours of work per student/week
  • Grades 9 to 12 – three hours of work per course per week for semester students; one-and-a-half hours of work per course per week for non-semester students?

Dufferin Peel Catholic District School Board - online student resources

Aligned to the Ministry of Education's Learn at Home initiative, where online learning resources have been provided for student learning, the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board has prepared supplementary online learning resources for students.  These resources have been provided based on student age/division.

  • KidLit - videos and podcasts about everything children’s literature! Read-alouds, author interviews, drawing classes and lots more
  • Hinterland Who's Who - learn facts about Canadian wildlife and wilderness
  • Library Journal - free access to all digital content
  • Mystery Science - to help educators during this time of coronavirus, we have pulled our most popular science lessons and are offering them for anyone to use for free
  • NetSmartzKids - resources are for children ages 5-10 | e-books, games, printable activities and the animated NetSmartzKids video series - videos for children to learn Internet safety lessons with the help of Clicky, the Internet safety robot, and his friends
